The Scholar

Intellect is by far the greatest tool at the Scholars disposal.  Often seen researching for hours on end, the Scholar prides himself on knowing all there is to be known before throwing himself into danger.  He is viewed as the antithesis to the Daredevil: In place of throwing caution to the wind, caution and thoroughness are stressed in order to come away from a hunt with both the treasure, and your head.

That is not to say that the Scholar is, by any means, a coward:  He is often seen to charge right in with the Daredevil, but much more prepared. Unlike many of the other divisions, no matter the monetary value of the item recovered, knowledge is always the true treasure for the Scholar.

A Scholar is a specialist in his research, and may enter into any field of study.  The following are a few examples:

–  Economist- A Scholar who is well learned in at the very least basic economic principles.  He has -extensive- knowledge of the workings of the current, and past, economy of the kingdoms, and offers explanations as to how it is changing, why it has changed, where it will be going in the future, what can be done to correct it, etc.

–  Historian- A Scholar who prides himself on his extensive knowledge of the past.  He will not tolerate inaccuracy in any form, as incorrect history may hinder investigations.  He is often called upon as a source for other Scholar’s research.

–  Philosopher- A Scholar who introduces theories to explain the reasons things happen.  Uses a specific path of reasoning to offer evidence for said theories.  (Example: Fish prices have dropped dramatically, and it is now unprofitable because lure and bait prices have remained the same, therefore there will be far fewer fishermen and slowly rising demand and prices to counter this.)

The Scholar is well-educated, well-mannered, and well-spoken in both his writing and speech to aid in clear and concise documentation.  Though often seen as solitary due to the large amounts of time spent in the study alone, the Scholar is quite friendly and tolerant, whose unique abilities and vast knowledge are often of great aid to the other Divisions.

Should you wish to join this illustrious division, you need only contact a division member, and he/she will direct you to the division head.  They are often found in the Merchant study or the library.
